haze lays down his first release on sin city, this time leaving his funtcase mask in the record bag to reveal his alter ego. maestro: step into the dub war soundclash. this dark aggy half step smasher will conquer any sound system! haze aka funtcase has leaped face first into the darkside, producing nothing more than pure dread. my selecta: round 1 to maestro the conquering lion, round 2 comes harder and faster. the revenge of the sound system. you can almost hear haze & funtcase battling it out in this one. half step movements shuffle into 4×4 kicks. dancefloor killer! both tracks supported by hatcha, n-type, walsh, tubby, funtcase, trolly snatcher, dismantle and benton.

aleph04 comes with three special reinterpretations of the labels first three eps. mano le tough is first in line. his remix of > flowers on fire< from aleph01 takes the originals colorful and spaced out vibes and puts them into a little more dancefloor friendly context, with a big 808 booming away and the swirls of the original synthline driving the track forward. mano has been a big supporter of the label right from the start and his releases on permanent vacation, buzzin fly or internasjonal have been turning heads quite a lot, so its an honour to have him on board. the second remix is by wasted gaze. this newcomer from vilnius / lithuania delivers an amazing version of >port hope< , taken from aleph02. a powerful, 2step / garage inspired beat sets the pace, while glowing pads, a super deep bass and enigmatic vocals take care of the rest. watch this guy, his untitled states ep on partyzanai is one of the most intersting and exciting records in a long time. the last track is a remix by aera aka m50 from chicago, who, quite fittingly, took care of this spaced out take on whats my name again? from aleph03. this one is for the heads, a special gem that will work magic in the early morning hours

this is the second vinyl teaser for the upcoming andre lodemann album fragments which is to be released in may 2012. the album will contain both original material and remixes produced by andre lodemann. this ep selection features two brand new original tracks going to the core feat. nathalie claude and unknown desire as well as a vinyl first dont panic. while going to the core, spoken word track, starts of with a focused sample-groove that then unleashes unknown emotional depths. the epic slow-burner unknown desire takes a different path pairing a funky groove with a melancholic touch. dont panic clearly has a jazzy feeling to it avoiding clichés. all tracks bear the lodemann typical production style creating a special emotional ride

for the fourth ep on austere, irelands slowburn are welcomed into the fold. having impressed us with releases on uzuri and elektrosouls this ep will not disappoint fans of the label to kick things off we have the the hustle which sounds like something that prescription forgot to release back in the day! next up is broken document which delivers lovely warm analogue chords and pads interlaced with an 808 groove. the b-side starts off with do it using various samples to great effect to culminate in a unique deep house sound. finishing things off in much the same territory is from another angle which again brings the warm chords and pads, but also brings to the table some really delicate synth lines to create a surreal effect.

so disco cakes is back with yet another chart topper. this time the dancefloor outlaws do battle with label bosses defkline & red polo. so what happens when the kings of booty breaks take on the might of the outlaws? well you get an ep of epic proportions. its packed with both there styles, the booty shacking bass and hooky vocals you have come to expect from defkline & red polo matched up against the crowd pleasing disco esq funk you have come to expect from the dancefloor outlaws. they are 4 cuts that will sit in your bag and be weapons in your artillery for a long time to come. available in both vinyl and digital these bombs will shake the dance and work the crowd in true cakes fashion.

our second vinyl release 2012 introduces a new series, the bias jams, on ilian tape. we start off with a compilation of 4 tracks from japan, serbia, argentina and italy. after some internal investigations we found out that imugem orihasam is not only a japanese shaolin, but also a yoga guru. his bias cut sounds like an instruction for a deep meditation in a forest. we chose a forest, because forests need to be saved. too many black puffs of vapour are killing them at the moment. our late riser regen probably didnt had that a mind, but we declare him to be an environmental activist from now on. now how should we include paper tape in this story … had a look online and found the term perforated paper tape. pretty interesting stuff, it was one of the first methods for data storage. ok are you guys joking? orbital? there is no way to write a good story with those track names. >an atomic orbital is a mathematical function that describes the wave-like behavior of either one electron or a pair of electrons in an atom<. yeah right! well in fact its enough to know that the bias jams series will feature some heavy bomboclaat bias cuts from various artists! cheers
